Here’s a Vintage metal round “clock-type” Thermometer for the Automotive shop— For PPG (Pittsburgh Plate Glass as it was originally known) a maker of paints and thinners used in Automotive painting. The face of this has chart info for mixing and thinning paints. It works—- is pretty close to the temp in my basement where I took the pics. It is in Very Good Condition—- a little wear and tear— some metal warp of the face, some light corrosion of the rim, but very nice color. I think maybe it is supposed to have a plastic cover on the front? It has one big blemish area—- at the 40 to 50 degree range at upper left (see the close-up photo). It looks like some paint thinner or epoxy splashed on it at one time. Otherwise it’s pretty nice! What you see is what you’ll get— please examine the photos. Up for sale is a vintage 1960’s Prestolite Tune-up Parts advertising clock sign. It measures 14 in square. It works well and runs quiet. It has an Ingraham clock motor inside. The original cord is in good condition. The prongs on the plug it says: Electric Cords Westfield, PA. The cord is about 7 feet long from the clock to the end plug. There are some scratches and marks, but it still has great colors and logo for the age. It is made of plastic. The previous owner drilled a hole on the top side probably for hanging. On the back the sticker says: “Essex” and an N with a box around it logo. Plastic covering over the motor is black. See pictures for exact condition. THE SIGN IS HUGE. ALL THE LETTERS ARE 4 INCHES THICK. THE “E” IS ABOUT 18″ TALL X 14″ LONG. THE “XX” IS ABOUT 40″ AT THE LONGEST POINT, AND 31″ ACROSS THE FRONT. THE “O” IS ABOUT 19″ TALL X 18-1/2″ LONG. THE “N” IS ABOUT 18″ TALL X 16″ LONG. EACH LETTER HAS NEON LIGHTING INSIDE. THE WIRES WERE CUT WHEN THEY TOOK IT DOWN, SO I HAVE NO WAY TO TEST IT. ALL THE TUBING AND LETTERS LOOKS GOOD, EXCEPT THE “XX” HAS ONE SECTION OF TUBING BROKE OFF, AND ONE PIECE OF PLASTIC BROKE OFF THE LETTER. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE BOTH IN THE LAST 2 PICTURES. THERE ARE A FEW SCREWS MISSING, THAT HOLD THE LETTERS TOGETHER, AND SOME OF THE SEALING PIECES ARE MISSING, BUT BOTH OF THOSE ARE VERY EASY FIXES. OTHER THAN THE ISSUES MENTIONED, ALL THE OTHER WEAR IS VERY MINOR, AND NOT SERIOUS AT ALL. OVERALL, EVERYTHING APPEARS TO BE IN GOOD SOLID CONDITION.
