Origin: Memphis, Tennessee – Time Period: Mid-20th Century – History: The Ever-Ready Oil Company, a division of Plough, Inc. Based in Memphis, Tennessee, produced this handy oiler. These oil cans were popular from the mid-20th century for household and automotive use. The company’s products were widely distributed across the United States. This particular can features a distinctive design with a red and white color scheme and illustrations of various applications, such as lubricating bicycles and small machinery. The can itself is made of metal, and the spout is designed to be cut for dispensing the oil. These vintage oil cans are now sought after by collectors of automobilia and advertising memorabilia. The can has not been cleaned. The can does show some imperfections, minor scratches, paint loss, squeeze indentations, some tarnish etc. Common with an oiler this old.
